SanDisk Extreme Pro 2TB advertised at 2000MB/s reaches less that 1000M

My SanDisk Extreme Pro 2TB advertised at 2000MB/s reaches less that 1000MB/s with Blackmagic Speed test on all ports of my Mac Studio M1 Ultra using the supplied cables.

Yep! Using the supplied cables will only given you that! You need to get a Thunderbolt3 cable to get the better performance.

SanDisk does not make note of that in their docs or even on the package that you need a different cable to get the full performance.

Well, they sort of do make note of that - if you read the fine print.

** Up to 2000MB/s read and write speeds. Based on internal testing; performance may be lower depending on host device, interface, usage conditions and other factors. 1MB = 1,000,000 bytes.

@ruggb - They forgot Cable as being the biggest one! This gets into how many data lanes are offered 2 or 4.

But a hint on the cable would have helped them not hurt them as many people I bet returned the drive without spending the effort to understand why and a TB3 or TB4 cable is not cheap either!

They did a CYA with "other factors". 2 data lines id a balance config. 4 data lines are available on a USB C cable but if the interface isn't using 4 data lines, it doesn't matter, does it? Actually, I don't know any that do use 4.

@danj yeah, you would have to get their test setup, which they don't publish. Only reviewers would list that.
