Doens't go on or charge after changing dock and battery

Hello

My iPhone 3g had problems charging and get recognized by computer and had also always very low battery, so that I ordered a "Dock Connector" and a new "Battery".

I replaced both parts with your guides, but now it doesn't go on or charge anymore.

When I put it on power (not on the computer) the apple sign shows for some seconds, then the backlight turns off and the apple sign is visible for some another seconds. But nothing else happens. Its impossible to put it on. When connecting to the computer, really nothing happens and also iTunes doesn't recognize it. (i tried also the recovery mode).

I also reopened it some times, put the old battery in again, put the old dock connector in and its the same problem. So maybe i have damaged something in the phone?

Does anyone has an idea, what the problem could be?

One thing is to verify that all connections that were removed to change dock and battery are seated properly and that no other connnection was accidently knocked loose. I would also look into using a totally different cable and charger plug. There might be a bad pin in the connector or a wire has broken inside cable itself.

A possible problem could be a defective docking port you received or original cable you were using had a bad or bent spot that could have shorted out new components.

Try a reset of the device - press and hold the power and home buttons at the same time till it powers off and reboots.

Post back result for additional ideas/advice

When you say nothing happens, Do you mean the phone does not reset/power off? Have you tried a different USB cable? Do you get the same symptoms if you use a wall charger Vs PC USB? BTW - Please Don't accept answer if Problem not resolved :)

The phone does reset (the logo went off) after holding the buttons, but nothing changes. still the same problem.

Wenn i plug it to the pc, really nothing happens. When I plug it to a wall charger, denn the apple logo is showing for some seconds, then the backlight turns off und the apple logo is showing for some other seconds.

But wenn i plug it into the wall, i hear also a quiet, high ton.

I tried it in itunes with the restore mode and my itunes find my phone in the restore mode. But when i klick on restore, after some minutes the error 1601 is coming.

Any idea what it could be? I tried already some times on different computer and on different usb-cables
