Trackpad required for keyboard to work?

Hi,

My A1932 had a water damaged trackpad. Since this Mac has the keyboard and trackpad flex in one, is the trackpad required for the keyboard to function? Because the keyboard looks fine but isn't working, even after pulling out the defective trackpad.

Well, its a bit more complicated! The trackpad and keyboard are interconnected! So you need both present for the keyboard to work.
