Does anyone know if I can use the stand from iMac 27" 2009/2010/2011 for Apple 27" thunderbolt display? They look same from images I can find online, though its part number is different.

Sadly, they are slightly different! Between the balance spring in the hinge and the alignment of the tang they are setup differently as the systems weights are different!

Can you tell us a bit more on what's wrong with the foot stand, maybe it can be repaired.

@danj - Thanks Dan, my understanding is that its difference is at balance spring, so, the mounting holes and screws should be working, right? And since the weight from iMac itself is heavier than thunderbolt display, it should be fine to use the iMac stand on thunderbolt, but not the other way around, right?

@lovecd - What I can tell you is Apple loves tweaking the dimensions!
The mounting screws and holes in the newer foot stands are different! So I would take the safe route getting the correct part. But why are we replacing it in the first place?
Why don't you get both! Then you can physically compare, use the one that fits and return the other.
