my onyx studio 3 wont stay turned on. and will only attempt to power up if its plugged into the charger. when i do so it turns on then right back off.i I have replaced the battery and the charging cord.No lighgts work when it is plugged ingto the charger either.Lights do work when i try to turn it on while its plugged in

From what I can find, this device isn't charged with USB-C or equivalent, but rather a standard AC adapter.
This makes it a little more tricky to measure what kind of amperage (current) is drawn when connected, but in no way impossible.
Had it been USB-C it could be done with a simple USB meter, but for this you need something like this.
That meter you basically "clamp" around the power lead that goes into the device, after setting it to measure amperes.
However, these aren't as detailed as those USB-A / C meters, because of the way they work.
This will tell you what kind of current is being drawn when charging.
There should be more current drawn when charging than when the battery is fully charged and the charger is only providing operating current.
