2020年4月宣布和发布的第二代iPhone SE的维修和拆卸信息。

iPhone SE2 Home button stopped working after screen replacement

I recently performed a pretty standard screen replacement on an iPhone SE2. In case it's helpful, the screen was completely black with no visible signs of damage, but the phone booted up fine, other screens worked, and I could feel the vibration from the home button. When I actually went through with the repair, I obviously tested it before closing it up. The home button had stopped working with the "Could not activate Touch ID on this iPhone" notification shown as if the home button was disconnected or replaced. I then tested it again with the original screen and with two partially working iPhone 8 screens from prior repairs. The home button only worked with the original screen. I was unable to discover any information online about Apple locking down screen replacements on the SE2 like they had on the 13 (before they reverted it), but that seems like the only possible reason. Is this a known problem? Do you have any suggestions?

Known issue with replacement screens. The connection for the home button through the screens are utter garbage. Keep trying different screens. If the button works OK with the original screen then nothing wrong with the button. If you're buying specific se 2020 screens then try an iPhone 8 screen. They're the same. Or buy a genuine 'pulled' screen for more money. 7's, 8's and se 2's are a nightmare lately for garbage replacement screens coming out. Seems there's no quality control in China anymore.

As I said, I tried two original iPhone 8 screens. The replacement was also a genuine refurbished LCD from a very popular and trusted seller (MobileSentrix). As a result, I find it unlikely that the screen was the problem. Still, thank you for the suggestion.

If you tried the original screen and the home button worked then the home button is not the issue. Check the frp connectors under magnification to see if anything is in it stopping the connection. I've fitted loads of iphone 8, se2 etc screens and not had one that required the original screen. Only had one where a pin in the frp connector was stuck in the plastic housing so it wasn't connecting. Once it was freed the button worked again.

Hi

It’s been a while since I did a iPhone screen replacement but I remember the iPhone 6S had this issue and it was solved by transferring the metal backplate from the display over as it had a paired Touch ID cable on it

As I said it has been a while but I would check that back plate for anything like that and if you see it swap it over to your new screen

Hopefully this helps

Thanks:-)

It's built in to the backlight layer and merges with either the LCD or digitizer cable (I'm not quite sure which). It's not removable. Thank you fo the suggestion, though.

I've tried four different screens, as stated in the post. The fingerprint sensor cannot be swapped because Apple prevents it, but it's definitely not broken because it still works with the original screen.
