Person called hears static noise during call when on hands free

I am stuck .

I started on an impossible job.. Replacing the glass on the back of an iPhone 11 pro max. Cracked the new glass when refitting and decided on replacement of entire case. Received a very substandard item . many internal screws were missing and the charging port needed to have the top part re-soldered onto it from original. I would have returned the thing but was on tight time constraint as client was moving home interstate.

Completed the job and found the the phone was doing a restart every 3 minutes. I did some research and found out about the panic log in the privacy folder analytics. There was a mic2 panic log that indicated that the power button flex may have been the culprit. I replaced it with the original apple from the old frame . the phone stopped the continuous reboot but still has a static hiss when using the phone on the hands free mode and for doing voice memo’s . There is no static when making a video recording or making a call when holding the phone to the face.

I hope that the fault resides in the power button flash flex .

Can anyone give me any guidance with this mystery. The owner says that there was no static previously. All of the information on problems seen to either point to the charging port or the power button flex (non OEM parts).

Am I missing something here? Prefer not to be informed that it is mother board.

Can anyone help me???

hello Allan,

yes, maybe i will try. This is one of those fairly simple glitches, but not very quick fixes. Unfortunately, in order to be 100% sure of everything, service equipment is needed. But, first, move the entire motherboard to the service housing in cases of accessory errors. Change and check the operations. There is a good chance that the fault will not appear. In this case, it remains to replace the docking tape or the main speaker. Most of the time, it's the small interface problem that's soldered in the middle of the tape - the one you've already struggled with.

Otherwise, remove the motherboard - desolder the sandwich and check the entire interposer, compare the readings to the patterns, and finally focus on the Audio loop and the south amplifier. You will need an oscilloscope - check the digital outputs, data buses and their values. Unfortunately, you won't find short circuits in the installation here (I'm afraid it doesn't work as you think and as YT shows). Here, you really need knowledge and experience in the field of microelectronics.

-regards and fingers crossing.

PS, if you have any questions, write to me - the address can be found in the "about me" tab or in my blog. I will help.

Thanks for the help. I do not have the level of equipment required for your solution .

I discovered that apple in heir wisdom had placed id chiplets into all parts and if it does not id as a genuine apple part "something " will go wrong.

I had to purchase a genuine charging port and the Mic problem was fixed.
