Remote not working properly

Hi

My daughter went to use her tv yesterday and it it’s like when you use the remote by you’re holding down the button. It’s the same on every button, the remote buttons are not physically stuck it just as if they are. I have changed the batteries and even used an identical remote from her sisters tv. I reset the tv to factory default but I can’t use it now because I can’t program it as it flies through the options. Has anyone experienced this or know what it could be?

How did you reset the TV, was it by using the TV's control buttons?

Hi

It’s LG32LM6300

I managed to reset it through the remote but it took soon time as it kept flying through the options. I think I have solved it, I took the power button/ IR sensor from my other daughters tv and fitted that and all is ok. I need to buy a new button but can’t find anything for that model. There are a few on the internet that look identical but have slightly different model numbers. Will these still work?

Different model numbers (do you mean number printed on the power button IR sensor board?) mean that they are different somehow even if they look similar, so I wouldn’t risk it

Manufacturers can use the same part between different models but the part number stays the same.

Did you try searching for the part number only to try and find a replacement?

Hi

No it was from a 43UK6300 instead of a 32LM6300. The numbers on the board were slightly different the first line was as a bit different but the second line was the same. The buttons looked identical and so did the board itself
