Motorola spn5845a charging cradle does not appear to be working. It will not charge my Moto 360 smartwatch. The charging light does not illuminate. I removed the cradle to a 120 vac GFCI receptacle and it tripped the receptacle. I reset the receptacle and plugged it in again. The watch charged. I removed the watch and used it. When I returned it to the cradle it would not charge. Any insight would be appreciated.

Tripping the GFCI is not a good sign.
Did you have to reset the GFCI the 2nd time?
Being a safety device, GFCIs usually trip when the current flowing into the device differs from the current flowing back out of the device by >0.005A (5 milliamps) to protect the equipment from further damage and the user from a possible electric shock
Since it appears to be intermittent the charger will have to be opened (if possible - can’t tell from looking at images, if it has a plastic welded body or if it is screwed together) and checked for any obvious problems i.e heat stressed or blown components.
Given the cost of the charger, time wise it may be easier to simply replace it, especially if you have to “break” into the case without causing too much obvious damage, cosmetic or otherwise and then work out what’s wrong if nothing is obvious..
