Charging won't work properly

Hello, I’m having problems with charging my iPhone, the cable and power adapter are okay, but when I plug it in the charging becomes erratic and will start and stop charging at random. The only way I’ve been able to get a consistent charge has been to apply pressure to the connector. There is no dirt in the port. I recently dropped the phone in a small puddle of water on the floor of my car. I’m relatively new to phone repair so any and all help would be appreciated.

Update: New charging port immediately fixed it
