2015年3月更新的 13 英寸 MacBook Pro 配备 Retina 显示屏,型号为A1502,采用第五代英特尔酷睿 i5 和 i7 处理器,并配备 Force Touch触控板。

Computer extremely slow and needs hold down power buttons to boot

When pressed on the power button normally for 1 sec and lift up, the screen backlight will just light up and cuts off immediately. I need to hold down my power button to get the MacBook to boot up. However when booted up, it is extremely slow.

I gave up trying to resolve this problem months ago but strangely today when I try again, the laptop works fine at least for a few hours until my laptop suddenly cuts off and all the symptoms are back. Not sure why a 0% battery maybe fixed something temporarily?

Let’s get a better view of things, install this gem of an app! CoconutBattery take a snapshot of the apps main window and post it here for us to see 在已经存在的问题里加入图片

Hello, thanks for the reply. Just added more information.

@Mitchell Tan - Well what I had expected was a worn-out battery which is clearly not the case here.

Here we have the kernel_task is consuming 256.4% of the processes, which is when SMC has lost access to one or more sensors either because of a failure or other damage.

Lets see if we can get the onboard diagnostics running, restart your system and press the D key. Appel did mess up the firmware on some series if your system comes back with an EFI error you'll need to run this great App TG Pro you'll want to full version to get the diagnostics. What we are trying to do is try to isolate which sub-system is having problems

Hello thanks for the reply again.

Added more information above. I ran the diagnostics but it didn’t detect any issue. TG Pro temperature seems fine, however under TG Pro diagnostics on last shutdown/sleep, it said “Forced - Battery current outside limit”.

I should point out I had my battery replaced by Apple a few months before the symptoms started and between the few months, I hardly used the laptop. Could it be the battery is faulty despite the low charging cycles?

Tried disconnecting the battery and power with charger, didn’t help in any way…

The Batteries age is a bit old for Apple to use if it was just a few months ago. Did you go to an Apple Store or just an authorized service provider, or just someone who serviced Mac’s.

The error “Forced - Battery current outside limit” is often a sign the comparator charging logic has been damaged from a knockoff charger.

Basically, there is a circuit which measures the voltage as the power is being driven into your system. A charger which is too powerful for the logic can damage it.

Actually it was quite a lot of months ago I guess. Looking back at my email, it was 16 Feb 2020 when I collected it back from the official Apple Store. I didn't use it for quite a few months and when I started to used it, not long this problem happened.

Also, I didn't use a knockoff charger though. Still using the charger that comes with the MacBook. It is still charging fine but I cannot tell if it is overcurrent or not.

Is there any way to test the comparator charging logic?

@mitchytan92 - I did also note the kernel_task is consuming 259.4% of your processes which is telling me your SMC is in CPU Safe Mode ramping up the fan and lowering the CPU's clocking.

Bottom line here your logic board needs service. Did you have a liquid spill at some point? As they could be messing you up.

Testing the logic board would require deeper skills. You'll need to be able to read schematics and use a DVM to test the power rails and other logic, have micro-soldering skills and lastly access to the components that need replacing.

Nope I didn't spill water on it.

Noted on the logic board. I am surely not capable of repairing the logic board myself but just wanna rule out other component issue so I wouldn't be replacing the logic board for nothing if it isn't it.

@mitchytan92 - This is a repairable problem! It just needs the deeper skills.
