Heatpipe able to melt wires?

Hello all,

I placed a new Vertex 3 drive inside my 27 inch iMac, and I noticed that the SATA cables and the new drive are right underneath a set of heatpipes that end at a heatsink.

Question. How hot to these copper heatpipes get? Can it melt wires??? Should I worry?
