random restarts with kernel power error in event viewer

Good day everyone

I am new to forums so please bare with me

I recently less then six months apart purchased a new power supply and liquid cooler after installing them in my system, my pc restarts randomly whether its gaming or searching anything on chrome other times no restart.

When going to event viewer there is a kernel power failure ID41 error.

my specs are as follows:

Motherboard: Asus Prime B360M-A

CPU: Intel core I7 8700

GPU: AMD Radeon HD 6800

Memory: 8GB DDR4

NVME: HP 256GB M.2

HDD: 1TB 3.5’’ Seagate HDD

PSU: Armageddon 700w power supply

CPU Cooler: Antec Neptune 240 AIO Cooler.

None of the components has been overclocked and all is standard.

so far i have tried the following but problem still persists.

# Updated Bios

  1. Reinstalled Windows 10 64 bit
  2. changed power settings
  3. ran memtest and chrystaldisk to make sure RAM and NVME is working properly
  4. checked each cable from PSU into MB and components all plugged in correctly

Temperatures are stable and unit does not overheat or spike.

the unit restarts randomly at times other times it can go a day without any reboots.

Any help would be appreciated dearly.

Thank you in advance

Hi,

Try running the PC in safe mode with networking and check if the problem occurs.

Since it is random allow sufficient time in safe mode to know whether the problem still occurs or not.

If it doesn’t happen then there is a driver problem as only generic Windows drivers are loaded in safe mode and not hardware specific drivers.

Hopefully a start.
