MacBook Air A1237 gets really hot

Whenever I do anything basic such as simply using arctic fox on Mac OS X 10.6 and searching the web my mac would get extremely hot and slow while the fan would be on full blast. I’ve repasted the cpu and I’m not sure if it has helped much, and I’ve looked though some sites to find a solution and I’ve found a software for undervolting the cpu called coolbook but i am unable to purchase it at this time. Is there any way to keep it cool?

Let's get some deeper details. Have your run the onboard diagnostics (depending on the running OS) or the CD/USB version?

Also let's install this gem of an app so we can see how your battery is doing CoconutBattery take a snapshot of the apps main window and post it here for us to see 在已经存在的问题里加入图片 Given your systems age its likely in need of a new battery and this could be the cause of the running how as the charging logic and SMC maybe running hard.

I would also look at your drive how full is it, maybe you should backup your stuff using TimeMachine, erase and reformat your drive and reinstall the OS, Lion (OS-X 10.7.x).

I have not ran any diagnostics yet. I reinstalled mac os lion earlier and I have added the coconut battery image.

@syntaxf - You may need to trim down what you currently have on your drive or look at upgrading it as looking at the menu stats it looks quite full!

These older Air systems just don't have much RAM or storage which does make things harder. OS-X & MacOS will leverage the drive for Virtual RAM, but you need to have free space for that! Try to keep about 1/3 of the drive free to get the best performance.
