gets huge chunks of ice out of the freezer and then it’s shuts down.

I have a Samsung side by side and it gets huge chunks of ice out of the freezer and then it’s shuts down. Now there is one blue light on but you can’t turn the light on for the fridge or freezer? Anyone know what that could be?

What is the model number of the refrigerator?

Chunks of ice sound like a defrost problem i.e. faulty defrost heater, faulty defrost thermister or even a blocked drain from under the evap unit to the evap pan under the compartments.
