Tablet powers on but no picture displayed
I have a Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 which has issues with the display.
Power seems very intermittent. Sometimes when powering on the device, the bottom buttons light up and there is even a burst of music. Other times nothing. Occasionally areas of the display seem to flash a lighter colour, but there is no consistent image output.
I've taken the back off. There is some scratching to the black flat cable from the charging port to the centre of the board. Otherwise nothing obviously damaged or loose.
Any suggestions on how to further diagnose or fix the fault please? Thanks.

When charging the tablet only i.e. not turned on, does the charging indication stay constant or can it be interrupted by a gentle movement of the charge cable or plug?
Wondering if the battery is not being sufficiently charged occasionally to start/run the tablet because there is a faulty USB connector and also this is why the tablet won't work sometimes on the charger.
use a strong light and a magnifying glass to visually inspect for pin damage or dust in the USB port enclosure. If there is any debris in the port enclosure preventing a good electrical connection do not use a pin or probe to get it out. Try using a vacuum cleaner to suck it out instead.
I realize that you said that nothing was loose or damaged but I wasn't sure if you had checked it as well
