Broken Airport socket connector MBP 15 inch 2014

Hi,

Block Image

As you can see, I’ve broken the J2 airport socket connector on my MBP 15’’ mid 2014, the cable is fine, yet it does not attach to the board anymore.

My question is can I just solider the cable to the remaining part of the broken socket, or there are better options?

Thanks

Best to just replace the AirPort board, there is no soldering here its a crimped shell part MacBook Pro 13"/15" Airport Board, Apple P/N 661-8143.

If you must, you’ll need to get a new socket connector and replace the broken part with a fresh one. That’s a bit of a wrinkle! As you’ll need to find the connector from a junker or order it if you can find it.
