unable to download kindle app

I had to factory reset my tablet because it was acting up. Now I cannot download any Amazon apps, including Kindle. Which I had on there before the reset.

I understand it is an older generation tablet, but is there any way I can get Kindle back?

Hi April,

Found this link which may help.

I haven't checked any further than what it says on the page, just so you know.

To install the app, download the .apk file to a computer and then transfer it to a remembered location in the tablet i.e. SD card (if installed) or internal storage

In the tablet go to Settings > Applications > Unknown Sources and enable it.

Then go back and open the My Files app and find the .apk file that you just transferred to the tablet.

Tap (double tap?) on the file to begin the installation of the app.

When it has been installed and you have tested that it works etc, go back and disable the Unknown Sources setting. This is so apps cannot be installed without your permission or knowledge.

Here’s a link to the user manual if you haven’t already got it.

Apologies if you know how to do all this already.

Try using this link in Firefox or Edge to access the Kindle app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/detai...

Unfortunately, It states Kindle is no longer compatible with my older tablet, which is a Samsung Tab 10.1 - Android 4.1.2 (apparently that is the "highest update Samsung offers for this older tablet") It is unfortunate, because I JUST had the app on there and then did the reset, and BAM.. gone :(

Oh man, that sucks. I feel like there should be a library of legacy Kindle apk files that users can download for their older devices. Having an older tablet shouldn't mean that you can't use it.

There is Kindle for PC, but I guess it's not the same as having a tablet.
