iFixit doesn’t sell every possible part, which is the case here. You’ll need to get from other sources. Here’s one source I use 27” iMac Retina 5K Main Fan, Apple P/N 923-01679

Excellent, thanks. These upgrades will be a good “post semester it-wont-be-as-bad-then-if-I-f**k-it-up” task … I’ve been running off an external SSD, would love to move back to using the internal. So, new memory, disks, and fan when it’s open.

@blairmacintyre - Hold on here! You shouldn't need to replace the fan unless it's failing. I would make the effort to dust out the system and the fan, use a small soft paint brush to loosen the dust and a can of can'ed air to blow it away. Thats it nothing else!

First don't do everything at once! I would do the memory first, then upgrade your drive make sure you follow the guides and don't use M.2 SSD's! Stick with either Apple or OWC.

My worry is that opening the thing up repeatedly is a recipe for disaster. I've worked inside macbooks a lot, and each time you open, there's a danger of damaging something (especially the display).

But I hear you on the fan. Perhaps I'll just clean it. I REALLY want to replace the drives though; I'm using them as "scratch space" right now, my system is on the external SSD, so even if something goes wrong, I wouldn't be worse of.

Thinking of getting OWC Aura Pro X2 480GB and Mercury Electra 6G 2TB kits; looks like they sell em with all the tools and parts.
