2015年3月更新的 13 英寸 MacBook Pro 配备 Retina 显示屏,型号为A1502,采用第五代英特尔酷睿 i5 和 i7 处理器,并配备 Force Touch触控板。

Sensors not showing any values

So lately my macbook has been running very slowly, so i decided to check the intel power gadget and saw that the CPU frequency is stuck at 0.5 Ghz. After doing multiple smc and NVRAM resets, reinstalling macOS and wiping the hard drive clear, i decided to look into the temperatures a bit more with iStat Menus and HWmonitor. After installing those programms my assumption was correct and the sensors were either showing 128C or no values at all. Do i maybe have to replace the sensors?

Running it through the Apple Diagnostics shows the following 3 errors:

“The battery requires service (PPT004)”

“There may be an issue with the power management system(PPN001)”

“The may be an issue with the System Management Controlls (PFM006) ”

Also important to note is that the battery was recently replaced, however the problems arose before that aswell, so this shouldnt be it. Replacing the battery back to the old one continues to show 2 out of the 3 errors excluding PPT004

These are the results that the application coconutbattery gave me for the new battery.

And these are the results that the app gave me for the old battery .

Ive seen similar posts about people having insane fan rpm but weirdly enough mine behaves normally and doesn’t spin at all. It only does going through Apple diagnostic, since the cpu is probably throttled down and doesn’t build up that heat.

Ok just to save @danj the same message, please run Apple Diagnostics by rebooting and holding D. It should come up with that, and provide the details back here. @danj will probably update you more once you provide more info from the diagnostics.

Well the good news is your old battery is past its prime! You need the new battery. Your new battery is AOK!

The bad news your charging logic has issues! This will require someone with deeper skills to fix.

Alright, ill take it down to a repair shop on monday and hope they can fix it. Thanks for the help.

Your system is in CPU Safe Mode! Thats when the SMC has lost access to one or more sensors so to protect the system it ramps up the fan and lowers the CPU’s clocking.

So the diagnostics popped three errors!

The battery requires service (PPT004) - Who’s battery did you install or if you went to someone to have it done they may need to replace it.

There may be an issue with the power management system (PPN001) - This often follows with the PPT004 error. Sometimes its the charging control logic on your logic board that has an issue.

The may be an issue with the System Management Controller (PFM006) - This is just a generic error when the sensors are messed up.

At this point I would install this gem of an app! CoconutBattery take a snapshot of the apps main window and post it here for us to see 在已经存在的问题里加入图片 so we can look deeper into the battery and the charging logic. Make sure you have the MagSafe charger plugged in and the battery is in charge.

The battery was installed by a friend of mine since he believed the throttling was caused do to battery depreciation and apple lowering the frequency of the cpu. However i have the battery still somewhere laying

@dennisn01 Coconut Battery App will help you better with the battery details and I suggest you install the original battery and post that here too. Ninja @danj will be able to give you more feedback.
