What are my options for a dead transformer?

I have a frontman 15r with an open loop on the primary winding of the transformer. 240 V in, and nothing out on the primary or secondary. Does anyone have a schematic for the 15r? Or does anyone know the primary and secondary voltage out of the transformer, so I can find a new one!

I have even gone as far as rewinding the primary on the transformer with no luck, ended up with a 180 Ohm loop on the primary which poped the fuse quickly! lol

Hi,

Here’s the service manual for the amplifier. Be patient as it takes a little while to go from processing to Download after you have passed the security check and clicked on Go to Download below the Document preview box.

Looking at the schematic for the amp the 230V power transformer seems to have a 16.4V AC dual output centre tap secondary winding i.e. 230V AC input and 2 x 16.4V AC outputs {see TP1 (p5) and TP2 (p7) at circuit ref. C8 coming from ref. A7 at the transformer}

The only problem is that the transformer’s output current rating (or power rating) is not specified as this would have a major bearing on which replacement transformer to get.

Is there any information printed on the transformer at all that might help e.g. something showing output VA (volt - amps) or Watts as this will tell you the current value as you know that the output voltage is 32.8V AC i.e. 2 x 16.4V AC? VA = voltage x current.

The Fender part number for the 230V transformer is 031364 but I got no results at all when searching for the part using the part number. You may have better luck.

Hopefully this is of some help.
