Why is my tablet not charging?

Have you tried a different compatible charger or tried connecting the tablet to computer and checked if it showed that it was charging OK, you didn’t say?

Use a strong light and a magnifying glass to visually inspect the tablet’s charge port to make sure that there isn’t any lint or other obstruction in the port enclosure that may be preventing a good electrical connection. Also make sure that all the pins are there and that they’re not broken or bent. If there is any debris in the port enclosure, do not use a metal pin or probe to try and get it out. Use a vacuum cleaner and try to suck it out instead

Does the tablet work OK when on the battery only?

If the tablet doesn’t start when on the battery only or it shuts down too soon afterwards then perhaps the battery is failing and needs to be replaced.
