Power button is not working

Power button is not working

So the power button on my Macbook A1502 13' mid 2014 does not work. The thing is it does boot as soon as I plug the magsafe in. If it is running the top row of keys do not work, except for esc. Allother keys are working fine.I tried to sort out if it is a logicboard or keyboard problem by shortening the power pads on the logicboard and nothing happened. So I guess its a logicboard issue. Can anyone give me some advice on how to proceed any further?

Had to reinstall MacOS and update it to the newest one, so it took me some time. Now the keys are working again except the power button.

Given the systems age I would check the battery, install this gem of an app! CoconutBattery take a snapshot of the apps main window and post it here for us to see 在已经存在的问题里加入图片

You clearly don't use your system much on battery or don't let the battery run down as you've only have 178 cycles. While that's low the age of the battery is getting up there so while thats not your issue today it will likely become one soon.

Sounds like the OS updates helped stabilize things. Now with the battery data we know the issue is strictly in the keyboard. The power button is part of the keyboard assembly [关联产品丢失或禁用： IF123-119]

I’ll warn you its a lot of work getting the old keyboard out as its both screwed as well as riveted in (replacing the rivets with screws). So while being cheaper in cost it maybe smarter going the other way…

Frankly, I think its just easier replacing the full uppercase 13” MacBook Pro Top case & Keyboard US, Apple P/N 661-8154. If you have a different keyboard layout the letter in front of the P/N defines the language as an example 13” MacBook Pro Top case, Keyboard UK, Apple P/N B661-8154 B being for British.

Some setups offer a new battery so you can take advantage of that too!

For either path you’ll need to follow this guide MacBook Pro 13 英寸 Retina 显示屏 2014 年中机型上盖更换件 and then you can carefully lift the keyboard backlight to gain access to the screws and rivets under it to remove the keyboard.

Thanks Dan, i ordered a new keyboard and it works now. Im going to replace it soon. Im aware that it is difficult but the macbook is not my main device so its ok if I &&^& it up.
