You likely have something more wrong than just a bad battery. Either the sensor logic within the battery or SMC charging logic within the logic board has issues.

I would install this gem of an app! CoconutBattery to have a better tool to monitor the battery as well as get a USB-C power meter like USB-C Tester DC Digital Voltmeter.
