Why can't I activate my iPhone 8?

The phone has had some pretty serious damage. Busted back cracked screen and the home button doesn't work. It has been restored with iTunes and does not have find my iPhone turned on. It always says no service, even when a sim card is inserted. It searches when turned on but never finds service. I just wanted to use it in my shop because it still connects to wifi. Is there any way to activate it? It failed via iTunes and via wifi.

You have a faulty baseband CPU or baseband PMU that is why you cannot activate it. You can test this with 3uTools or on the touchpad by typing (*#06#) if baseband is all right it will bring up your IMEI number. This would be a costly repair. If the baseband CPU has an internal short there will be no fix.

 If you wanted to use it in your shop with just Wi-Fi you will need to jailbreak it.

So how how would I go about jailbreaking it? I haven't done anything about that since the first ipod touch.

It doesn't show an imei in the info section or when you dail that in the keypad.

@mer_rs I have never tried jailbreaking an iPhone. “Apple Tech 752” has a lot of videos on you tube about it.
