What is the problem with an impaired touch screen?

Hello,

My laptop fails to response to touch input, in short, no touch at all while the display works fine.

I wonder if it is the problem with the screen itself or from some part called Touch Control Board.

If your touchscreen isn’t working or not responsive how you would expect, first thing is to try restarting your PC. If you’re still having problems, check for updates:

Select Start , then select Settings .
In Settings, select Update & security , then WindowsUpdate , and then select the Check for updates button. Install any available updates and restart your PC if required.
If you didn’t have any updates that required a restart, it’s still a good idea to restart your device to make sure any pending updates are installed.

It seems that the problem doesn't come from any software defect. I have tried both updating and restarting the system but nothing changes.

My question is, in case it is a hardware failure then which part of the device should hold responsibility and requires replacement.

@noriserif If it is a haraware failure, the touch glass or touch chip could be the problem, that way you'll have to replace the screen itself. Before that, make sure all the cables sit tightly.
