JBL Connect App can not find speaker

Could not get the JBL connect app to see my JBL Charge 3 speakers. Which means you cannot do party mode or stereo mode. I attempted this on 3 different android devices with modern OS’s. I tried everything, including speaker reset (hold bluetooth and vol + button) uninstall SW etc.. The solution I found was to borrow a friends iPhone. The iPhone was able to see the speaker with the connect app, I then upgraded each of my speakers to the connect plus firmware. Now the JBL connect app can find my speakers on my android devices. No problem doing party or stereo mode. Be sure to plug speaker into the wall before upgrading firmware otherwise you may end up sitting thru a 20 minute process that ends unsuccessfully. Plug everything in first then upgrade.
