There is clearly an outlined area for a second slot however there is not a second ram connector slot attached to the motherboard. I know other versions have that second slot included, is it even possible to add a second slot? Thanks in advance.

As stated by the comment above, it really won’t be practical to add that extra slot. Although the board already has the pads there, you’ll need additional components to go with it on top of the proper BIOS to support it and thousands of dollars in microsoldering equipment with the skills and patience to do it. Microsoldering is like performing surgery on electronics. You’d be way better off getting a machine that either has what you’re looking for, or maybe even swapping out just the motherboard.

Thank you. I ended up sending the extra 8GB ram back and I ordered a single 16GB one that is recommended by Crucial.

I would think that it is would probably not be feasable. BIOS, other supporting components needed, great danger of slip up, etc., etc.
You would also need the schematics, correct tools and be highly skilled with micro soldering.
And hey why bother? The performance gain would only be minimal.
