Screen spazzed out and now it's darkish
Apple logo is still lit on the back and screen looks like a greyish color that wants to let the light shine. It works without any issue with an external monitor. How can I fix my laptop screen?
First reseat your display cable. See step #14 of the display replacement guide:

Mayer! I think that solved the problem! Only time will really tell but it seems to be functioning just fine currently. Thanks so much for your help!!

Am I able to clean that connection? Like I said it seems to be functioning fine but when it was starting it seemed to show static but stopped. IDK?
You can use vinegar on a Q-tip to clean contacts.
Hi there Logan!
So, it sounds like the LCD might be cracked or damaged internally, which means, sadly, you might have to replace the screen.
However, did you try to reset the SMC or PRAM at all? For the PRAM, all you will have to do is:
For the SMC, shut down the computer and hold down the Power button for 10 seconds and let go. Next, turn it back on.
Let’s hope that it’s just a quick reset issue.

I tried both of the suggestions and no picture. I hear it turn on, apple logo is still lit but the screen is a greyish color with no picture. Is replacing the screen difficult?
Hey there Logan. I would recommend doing what Mayer said above and reseat the display cable. if that doesn’t work you could replace the Display. It isn’t too terribly difficult of a job if you know your way around electronics and repairing them. Just watch a couple of videos and you should be perfectly fine!

I did what Mayer said and it seemed to work. I'll update if things change. I asked a question about cleaning that connection, is that possible?
it is, I would recommend 99% isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol) and an old toothbrush lightly. canned air is always a good option to make sure it is dry before plugging the display cable back in. also make sure the battery is unplugged the entire time as well.
Thanks for the additional tip! It's been working great so far so I won't mess with it unless it starts to act up. Thanks again for all your help!
