Installed update, can no longer use PIN, forgot password.

So I recently installed a needed update for my laptop, and unbeknownst to me it updated the security settings so I can no longer use the PIN I’ve been using for years, and I cannot remember the password (I also don’t even recognize the email address).

so why not just reset password to a back up email? Well…there is none. There is, but it is the same email I don’t recognize / don’t remember making (it’s my first and last name at gmail). So I went through with my only other option which was to go online and hope I gave Microsoft enough information (basically they only asked for my first last and middle name, my sex, my country, state, city, and zip code. There were no secret questions set up) for them to believe this is ME using my SAME LAPTOP FROM THE SAME IP ADDRESS AND LOCATION FOR YEARS! I also still remember the PIN I was using before this update!

so basically I’m totally locked out of my laptop. Are there any solutions at all to this or should I just throw it in the dumpster because that’s where it may as well be right now ):

thank you very much for taking the time to read my issue and I look forward to (hopefully) trying to fix it or just getting closure that it is in fact worthless now.

I don’t know your technical skills, but the short answer is creating a new administrator account and now you can change/reset password from your account.

There is so many tools on the industry like a flash-drive to unlock your account, or the in the worst case, making a copy of your personal files and reinstalling windows.
