Home button won't work.

Good day, fellow repairers. Basically my story began with iCloud lock. Bought a used phone from EBay and I decided to replace motherboard. Didn’t know I had to buy it along with button, so I installed one alone I had. Tried with original button. Input didn’t work as Home Button, neither as Touch iD. Bought Touch iD/Button for it. Replaced old original one with new, knowing that there will be no Touch iD. It didn’t work also, so I decided to bring everything back together, since original Button worked with original Motherboard. After that it just didn’t respond like the one I bought. Why did this happen? Should I get new Motherboard with Button? Thanks in advance.
