2015年3月更新的 13 英寸 MacBook Pro 配备 Retina 显示屏,型号为A1502,采用第五代英特尔酷睿 i5 和 i7 处理器,并配备 Force Touch触控板。

Wide SSD from late 2013 15” in 13”?

I’ve got a wide, 1 TB SSD pulled from a late 2013 15” retina.

I know the connector is the same on the 2015 13”, but is the wide SSD too wide to fit? It was too close to the battery in a 2013 Air.

Thx, I found this after posting my question but it’s not as explicit as I’d like. It indicates the one TB is wider and won’t fit in an Air, but doesn’t discuss a wider TB in a 13”.

Ah! You need to look a bit deeper ;-}

Your MacBook Pro Late 2013 SSD is a AHCI/PCIe 2.0 x4 drive Vs the MacBook Pro Early 2015 which uses a AHCI/PCIe 3.0 x4 and can also support a NVMe/PCIe 3.0 gaining ~40% even more performance over the AHCI services.

So while the SSD will physically fit, the older slower PCIe 2.0 x4 interface will hold your system back over the PCIe 3.0 x4 your system offers. Then jumping from AHCI to NVMe offers even more performance!

I was hoping for someone who had physically done the swap, and have gotten in a 13" late 2013 and fitted the wide 1 TB to it. I connected to another Mac via TDM and the drive was recognized properly, though I did not install macOS.

I know the speeds differ, but given that I got the 1 TB for free, am fine with the 'slower' speed.
