My Audio IC (chip) is broke - will Airpods still work?

I have a problem with my iPhone where wired headphones and calls don’t work. Bluetooth has worked on everything I’ve tried so far (car radio, speakers, etc.) From everything I’ve read online, the problem is my audio IC not working.

If I buy airpods or other wireless headphones, will they work with my phone, or will the audio IC still affect it?

Any help would be much appreciated!

I need my phone for work and only have one day off a week so repairing it could be very tricky until I get more time off. Music is a huge influence on my life though and I just really miss using headphones
