Intermittent 'No Service' Signal issues - loose antenna connection

Hi,

Recently my iphone 3gs has got really bad signal it does intermittantly from fulls signal-to just a bit-to no service and sometime stays on no service for a good while (pretty annoying). I took it in the local phone shop today and they took the front off and said something to do with the signal antenna was a bit loose and they had pushed it back in to place. This gave me full signal but about 10-15mins later the problem was back. They said if it returned they could re crimp something? this will cost £20 though as was wondering if there is a simple safe way I could make this connection better?

Many thanks.

If they charged you for the first fix, which now has gone bad. Return and have them fix it properly for no charge.

Brad has got the right idea, some nerve of them to charge you for their improper fix.

HOWEVER! If returning to that shop is not your idea of a good time, feel free to check out this Answer. It seems "connector 7" would be the culprit. You can follow this guide up to step 10 to find that connector and try to get it to seat right. The answer also has some repair tips. Hope this helps!

They didn't charge me for just putting it back in place the first time they just said try that and if it continues come back and they will sort it (although that will cost). Will try that guide would you say it's ok for someone with no previous knowledge to follow-difficult to damage the phone further?
