iPhone 8 Plus haptics work for home button but not mute switch

hi guys I'm doing a housing replacement on an 8 Plus.

The haptics are being strange..

The haptic when pressing the home button is as normal.

When I flip the mute switch it shows on-screen ‘silent mood on/off’ but has no haptic at all. I've checked the settings and haptics are on, when I hold the power and volume down to power the phone off it doesn't have any haptic when it should..

Ive got another 8 Plus haptic engine here (pulled out of a broken phone so not confirmed working.)

When I install this the mute switch now has haptics, same with when turning the phone off BUT the home button now has no haptics..

Ive also tried two different charging port flex's with the same results.

Is this a board issue? Or would a brand new haptic engine fix this(my two are defective maybe?)
