Plug'n'play controller and wireless controllers won't connect to xbox

My plug'n'play and my wireless controllers won't connect to my Xbox 360. This coincided with my cat knocking it off my entertainment center, but I was hoping there might be a fix for it. The lights on the controllers won't turn on at all, but I can still use the plug'n'play controller to start up my xbox. I know the controller works because I use it with a PC regularly. Please help!
