Why is the screen damaged

when I was asleep my Chromebook was just fine and was charging but when I woke up it was in my open and is between the opening and shutting bar and screen is broken like the screen is like damages like I don't know how to explain it but like it's damaged kinda and I need to figure out how to fix it and fast
