Fridge and freezer not cooling

I have a LG Lfxs24623s that seems to have stopped cooling today.

I unplugged it for a about 30 minutes and also replaced the overload relay as I had a new one available. I don't see any starter relay on my compressor.

About 20-30 seconds after plugging it in the fan kicks on. 5 seconds or so after that the compressor turns on. Both have stayed on for hours now and I don't notice it being much cooler if any. The compressor is a bit warm to touch but nothing that would burn you from touch.

I turned it on and push the button on the PCB and got 1 beep. I then pushed it again on got 2 beeps. The Led light on the PCB did not flash at all.

Does anyone have any suggestions at this point?

Thank you for taking the time to review either way.

Hi @friedfishy ,

Looking at the service manual a no LED display when testing the compressor would indicate that there is nothing wrong with it. But this is only testing whether the compressor is working not that there may be a problem with the sealed system e.g. lack of refrigerant due to a leak etc.

Are there any signs of a leak e.g. oily residue near the compressor or condenser? There is a special oil mixed in with the refrigerant to lubricate the compressor and if there was a leak it would show up whilst the refrigerant would escape into the air.

p.91-92 of the manual has the sealed system diagnosis charts which may help

You may have to get the high/low pressures tested in the sealed system to know what and where the problem is.

Depending on your location you might need a licenced refrigerator repairer to do this to comply with the environmental regulations dealing with the handling of refrigerant gases. They would also have the necessary equipment to do this as well.
