Trouble with my Yard Machines riding mower

I have a “Yard Machines” riding mower, with a Briggs and Stratton 17.5 hp engine.

I have replaced the battery, starter, plug, filters and carb. Still mower half cranks then stops then stronger crank, hit or miss if it starts before battery dies. Anyone have any suggestions please? Maybe armature magneto?

Old post, but yea on your cam shaft there is a

Pressure release. It sounds like that lil spring went bad and your engine isn't releasing pressure during starting operations
