Broken Logic Board Chip
While doing a RAM swap my screwdriver slipped and broke a chip off the logic board. Does anyone know what this does? Can it be soldered back on? Is it necessary (I would assume yes, but worth asking)?
Sorry, I don’t have the schematics for this model, as such I can’t verify what the capacitor/resistor is or its value. I also can’t tell with the picture if the solder pads are intact or not.
It’s possible the other SMT devices in the row are all the same so desoldering one might tell you what it is if you can’t measure the one that is loose. Don’t loose it!
Best to find someone with deep SMT component skills who can figure it out and replace it.
