Replaced the battery, but the laptop does not recognize it.
Replacing the battery with the iFixit kit was relatively easy, but the computer does not recognize it. Full disclosure: the old (>8 years) battery had “battery needs service” showing for quite a while before it failed totally, and I noticed when I rebooted with power back then that that status was “No battery”. Any help would be appreciated.
