Gain access to the files on the SSD after water damage

I have a 13” MacBook Pro retina (late 2013) and recently water damaged it.

I need the data on the hard drive. Can I use the OWC enclosure ( [关联产品丢失或禁用： IF107-148] ) to connect the SSD to another Mac and pull out the files?

I had password for the old Mac. Will that matter when I plug the enclosure and try to read the files?

You got the right idea! Mount the SSD up in the case, connect to a Mac which is running the same version of macOS your’s did or newer. If this is a replacement system, use Migration Assistant to copy-off your stuff to the new system.

I only want to copy some files, not to restore the system. Can the enclosure help me?

@katherineday47 - If you only need a few files then just use the Finder once you've plugged in your user account and its password.
