Data Recovery File Permission

I have an early 2014 MacBook Air that will no longer boot. I got an OWC Envoy case and removed the ssd to try and recover the data but when I connect it to our iMac, I keep getting a message when I try to open files I keep getting the following message “The folder “Desktop” can’t be opened because you don’t have permission to see its contents”.

Is there a way to change the permissions on the files?
