My 1988 s-10 wont start.

we replaced the fuel pump and it still wouldnt turn on. we checked the relays to find out that they were melted and some of the melted plastic got on the connectors. we only replaced the relays though. i was wondering if it could be the connectors but im not sure. we replaced the relays, gave it a few cranks and still wouldnt start. im not sure what the problem is.
