PS4 remote doesn't turn console on, but works otherwise

My PS4 remote does not power on the console. The remote works fine otherwise. It's just that I have to turn the system on by pressing the button. Also, I've noticed that during system updates, when it is supposed to restart, the system turns off but doesn't turn back on. I have to turn it on by hand, and it finishes installing the update. Other than that, everything works fine. What could be the issue?
