Single Vertical Line on TV

Hello,

While watching TV, a single red line has appeared on my screen. It goes down a single column of pixels completely and can be seen on different inputs and in the tv menus, etc.

I’ve had a look at similar questions on this forum and tried to nudge the ribbon cables, however to no success, the image does not change at all and the line does not disappear. Maybe I wasn’t doing it correctly but did try with medium force on the ribbons on the screen and the ribbons on the board.

If anyone knows what can be done, please give me a shout. I’m going to stay very active in this forum. also worth noting, I’ve got all the tools that a normal household would have, so hoping I’ve not got to do any soldering.

@saadav …. typically, vertical lines are caused by a loose/dirty ribbon connection or a faulty component on tone of your boards…tcon or mainboard. the picture you are showing isnt looking like a tcon issue. could be a mainboard problem or the ribbon connectors. i would try and disconnecting the ribbons to and from your main board and reseating them. mainboard issues would have many more lines on the screen, so check the ribbons first. disconnect all connectors and ribbons and reseat them properly.

So disconnected the ribbons and connected them back on. (The image below will show the ones I did). Used compressed air can and sprayed both the ribbons and the ribbon connectors. Still no use, the red line persists still!

as don’t seem like they can be removed.

(Maybe they can, not sure, looked permanently stuck on)

those two that you didnt touch were to the display panel. those can be undone as well by lifting up on the black tab. i would do those as well just to be thourough. try and hit the menu button and see if the line continues through this box. (im assuming it will but just checking)

no problem...im just doing the basic stuff before moving onto any replacements/ board repair...just keep posting back and we'll continue
