Changing the keyboard or topcase
Hi everyone
Like a lot of people, my keyboard is &&^&*d up. The AZEQSDWC keys show weaknesses. When I press the A key it displays IOUYT etc...
After several messages read from everywhere, despite attempts to repair software and OS, none is working. So I conclude that the problem is the keyboard.
I've seen/read a lot of tutorials, but one question always comes up:
Why do I have to change the whole TOPCASE and not just the keyboard?
For now, the Mac Book Pro mid-2012 is completely dismantled, keyboard in hand, and I don't see why I should change the complete case. So maybe can someone explain me this ?
Thanks again! :)
Have you tried to use an external keyboard first before you spend money on this? Just to know its not a software problem.

Yes, when I had reinstall the whole system, in order to mame a good username and password, I used an external keyboard. And it was working ;)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OCmPqsvV... I really can't see why you wouldn't want to remove only the keyboard
I'm, not that much of an expert myself. but it makes sense to me...

Here's a tip! Open your Keyboard control panel and enable the show keyboard viewer in menu bar. Then opening up the keyboard viewer from the menu bar you should be able to see if the given keys mapping is messed up. So as an example you press the A key does the A key is the keyboard viewer show the A key being hit or some other letter?
