Why won’t my right joycon sync in docked mode

I recently took apart my right joycon so i could replace the thumbstick, and now it will not connect when i dock it. It works fine wirelessly suprisingly. I think there may be a ribbon loose but I’m not sure what any of the ribbons do? Which ribbon helps with this?
