Display Assembly MacBook Pro Plastic piece glass cracked repair

I have access to a Macbook Pro display assembly that has liquid damage that unfortunately does not power on but the glass itself does not appear to be damage at all. I also have access to a Macbook Pro display assembly that has cracked glass close to the hinge of the laptop. Is it possible to somehow take the none broken piece of glass and swap it over to the other display assembly that is still functioning? Or is there some better way to repair this piece of cracked glass?

I have included below a picture of the display assembly with the cracked glass:

Assuming the displays LCD its self is not damaged, you can replace the chin plate on its own!

As for salvaging the plate from the water damaged unit you will need to be careful! As it won’t take much to break! Using a heat gun carefully work at one end and using some thin stiff sheets of plastic or metal (thinner than a credit card) slide it under and then do the other side being very careful not to lift more than a few mm to slide the plastic/metal sheet in. Once the two ends are done heat the middle and instead of lifting I twist like setting a old fashioned clock hands to the correct time. When the adhesion is lost then I lift. @danj Awesome. Thank you! So what type of Heat Gun? Like a generic one off Amazon or should it be a Hot Air rework station gun? Also in the guide you linked, performed the swap with the screen still attached to the bottom shell. Did you find it easier to do it in that manner or was it just to avoid taking off the display assembly? Currently i haven't installed the working display(with the broken baffle) so deciding whether I should fix the baffle while it is not connected to the bottom shell.

@appletechy - variable temp unit is what I have HomeRight - Digital Temperature Heat Gun

Either way is doable, just use some aluminum foil to shield things as the heat can damage things! You shouldn't need to high a heat as you just want to soften the adhesive.

@danj What temp would u say is best for this replacement? Doing some Amazon shopping at the moment looking to buy one since Home Dept is slow on shipping and doesn't have that in stores.

I use my finger ;-} Is the surface just at the point of pain. I start off low and work up.
