Can anyone tell me how do I use the flex extension?
Can anyone tell me how do I use the flex extension in Ifixit pro tech kit?? It’s not magnetic.
Hi @kmredul
Push the bit into the hollow end until it is stuck in place. It will need to be pushed a little harder versus putting the bit directly into the driver. If the bit is not magnetic, you can attach a small magnet to the bit or rub the bit itself against a larger magnet.

Yeah, I figured it out. BTW thanks for your help.
Man I feel dumb. Thank you.
The 150mm Flex Extension in the 64 Bit Driver Kit (Mako/Pro Tech Toolkit) does not have a magnet. The slot uses friction to secure the bit, unlike the iFixit Drive Handle which uses a magnet. If you insert a bit and then push it in with additional force it will click into place. To remove the bit, simply pull the bit up and out from the socket and the friction grip inside will release it.
If you're not able to get the extension to hold the bit, please Contact Us with your order number.

The Flex Extension in the iFixit Pro Tech Toolkit is a bit confusing at first, but it’s simple once you know it.
### How to use it:
* Insert the extension into the driver handle first
* Then attach your bit (screw head) to the front end
* Use it like a flexible shaft for tight spaces
### Important point:
* It is **not magnetic on purpose**
* It holds bits with a **friction fit**, not magnetism
### Tip:
* Push the bit in firmly until it feels locked
* If it feels loose, re-seat it again
It’s designed for reach, not magnet strength.
